Hi, I'm Mael Federo

Software Engineer Graduate

Building & helping others is what I do best.

About Me

Greetings,
I'm Mael Federo, a 25-year-old recent graduate from the University of Portsmouth, where I earned an Upper Second-Class Honours degree in Software Engineering.

I've always been passionate about technology. Ever since I was around 6 or 7 years old, I've been fascinated by computers and how they work. What I enjoyed the most was using that knowledge to help others — that feeling of solving problems and making things easier for people brought me a lot of satisfaction.

Around the age of 11, I began expressing my creativity by building simple HTML and CSS index pages. That was the beginning of my journey into the world of tech.

Through my degree, I deepened my understanding of many aspects of technology, from how operating systems function to how to develop, test, maintain, and make software more accessible and user-friendly. I also discovered which areas I'm most passionate about, particularly developing accessible applications that prioritise good UX design.

The journey wasn't always easy. Navigating university during COVID and coming to understand my own neurodiversity made it a true rollercoaster. But becoming a Software Engineer has always been a dream of mine, and through resilience and determination, I achieved results I'm truly proud of.

Now that I've graduated, I'm eager to use my skills, creativity, and logic to contribute to meaningful projects and to help make the world a better place through technology.
